HAMILTON — Seven new faces have been added to the Butler County Sheriff's Office "Ten Most Wanted" posters, the third edition since February 2006.

The new poster is comprised of 10 men wanted on various charges. These include rape, kidnapping, aggravated murder, felony drug charges, failure to register as a sexual predator and — as usual — two individuals wanted by the Butler County Child Support Enforcement Agency for felony nonpayment.

Extras

The original poster was updated in July after five of the people featured were captured. Seven people from the second poster have been taken into custody, thanks — in part — to information and tips from the public.

People pictured on the poster are chosen because they are considered dangerous and are actively being sought by deputies, officials said.

"They are people they (deputies) believe they have a good chance of finding or need the most help with," Sgt. Monte Mayer, sheriff's office spokesman, said.

The poster can be viewed at the sheriff's office Web site at www.butlersheriff.org. Printed posters will be distributed within the next 10 days to other law enforcement agencies, and placed in other public buildings and the lobby of the sheriff's office.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of any of the most wanted persons is asked to contact the sheriff's office at (513) 785-1300, or call 911 or their local police agency.
