MU’s Smith earns national honor
OXFORD — Miami University junior forward Reilly Smith has been named National Player of the Week by Inside College Hockey, the second time in three weeks that a RedHawk has received the honor.
Smith scored four goals, including both game-winning goals, in a series sweep over Western Michigan last weekend.
Senior goalie Connor Knapp was named INCH Player of the Week on Jan. 10.

Clay earns MAC weekly award
OXFORD — Miami University senior sprinter Rachael Clay was named Mid-American Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week.
Clay won the 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 55.49 seconds, the second-best time in school history, at the Gladstein Invitational at Indiana University.

Ross senior up for prestigious award
ROSS TWP. — Ross High School senior linebacker Cody Lotton has been nominated for the annual “That’s My Boy” award, given annually by the Greater Cincinnati chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.
It is considered the top award available to high school football players in the area.
The son of Rob and Sheryl Lotton, Cody was named JournalNews All-Area Defensive Player of the Year. He also won numerous other awards, including first-team All-Fort Ancient Valley Conference, first team All-Southwest District and honorable mention All-Ohio while leading the Rams to an 8-3 record, a share of the league championship and a Division II playoff berth.
The Southwest Ohio Football Coaches Association oversees the nominations, which represent football excellence, academic performance and involvement in extracurricular activities.
Lotton is the fifth Ross football player nominated in the past six years, joining Kevin James in 2006, David Lane ’07, Casey Vatter ’09 and Sam Fernandez ’10.

State tournament ticket sales set
Public all-session ticket sales for the 2012 high school state wrestling tournament will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30.
The tournament is March 1-3 at the Schottenstein Center at Ohio State University. The cost for an all-session ticket book (five sessions) is $75 for the Entry and Club levels and $55 for the Terrace Level.
Tickets can be purchased at Tickmaster locations or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000 or by going online at ticketmaster.com. Single-session ticket sales will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20.
