FAIRFIELD 5, HAMILTON 1: Fairfield’s Jerry Solorio scored three goals and had two assists, and teammate Troy Wintermeyer added two goals and three assists in a Greater Miami Conference win on Thursday, Sept. 23. Jonathan Fox scored the only goal for Hamilton (3-3-3, 1-2-1 GMC). Fairfield (5-1-4, 4-0 GMC) will host Mason on Tuesday.
SYCAMORE 1, LAKOTA WEST 0: The Firebirds fell to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the Greater Miami Conference with its loss on Thursday, Sept. 23. Lakota West will travel to Hamilton next Thursday.
CINCINNATI CHRISTIAN 4, NORTH COLLEGE HILL 0: Dan Merrell, David Perry, Josue Hernandez and Andrew Stenger each scored a goal to lead the Cougars to a win on Thursday, Sept. 23. Kollin Thomas and Caleb Snyder combined in goal for the shutout. Thomas had four saves and Snyder had three. CCS (5-5) will host Withrow on Saturday.
ROSS 2, NORWOOD 0: The Rams jumped back into first place in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference West Division with its win at Norwood on Thursday, Sept. 23. Neal Dierking and Jake Dellen each had a goal and Richie Burns had 10 saves for his third shutout of the season for the Rams (7-2-1, 4-0 FAVC West).

OAK HILLS 1, LAKOTA EAST 0: The Thunderhawks dropped to 1-8 overall and 1-3 in the Greater Miami Conference with its loss on Thursday, Sept. 23. Lakota East will travel to Lakota West on Tuesday.
LAKOTA WEST 5, SYCAMORE 0: Alex Azeez went one better than a hat trick by scoring four goals in leading Lakota West to a Greater Miami Conference win on Thursday, Sept. 23. Louise Palhed scored the other goal and Claire Kozlowski recorded six saves for the Firebirds (7-3, 4-0 GMC).

TALAWANDA 179, ROSS 183, EDGEWOOD 193: Talawanda won the Country Boy Classic tri-meet on Thursday, Sept. 23 playing the Woodside nine at Weatherwax Golf Course. Ross’ Danny Luerhmann and Talawanda’s Tyler Schuppie were co-medalists each shooting 42. Cody Marcum was Edgewood’s top scorer with a 45. All three teams will compete in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference tournament on Tuesday at Weatherwax.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
CINCINNATI CHRISTIAN 3, CINCINNATI COUNTRY DAY 0: The Cougars won a road contest 25-13, 26-24, 25-17 on Thursday, Sept. 23 at Cincinnati Country Day. Katie Vandenburg led CCS with six aces, four blocks and 27 assists. Melissa Baab (nine kills), Abby Pruett (six digs), Kiersten Paul (five kills, four blocks) and Dani Rodulfo (nine kills, two blocks) also contributed for the Cougars, who will play in the Oak Hills tournament on Saturday.
FAIRFIELD 3, HAMILTON 0: Fairfield and the Susan B. Komen Foundation were winners on Thursday, Sept. 23. The Indians defeated Hamilton 25-22, 25-22, 25-15 in a Greater Miami Conference match, while also raising more than $1,500 for the foundation. Karsen Cronin had 21 kills, four aces and nine digs to lead Fairfield (4-6, 1-3 GMC). Justine Kennedy (31 assists, five digs) and Jamie Hoskinson (15 digs, two aces) also contributed in the win. Erin Noga had nine kills and 13 assists to lead Hamilton (6-5, 2-2 GMC).
LAKOTA WEST 3, SYCAMORE 0: The Firebirds remained undefeated at 4-0 in the Greater Miami Conference with a 25-20, 25-22, 25-15 win over Sycamore on Thursday, Sept. 23. Taylor Anderson had 11 kills, Lexi Dannemiller had 23 assists and two aces and Mel Stewart had 18 digs to lead Lakota West (10-1 overall), which will travel to Lakota East Wednesday.
CLARK MONTESSORI 3, NEW MIAMI 0: New Miami came up short on the road at Clark Montessori on Thursday, Sept. 23, losing in straight sets 26-24, 26-24, 25-13. Kayla Phillips had 11 service points on 18-of-18 serving, two aces and seven digs to lead the Vikings (5-7). Heather Thacker (10 kills, six digs) and Alyssa Rison (seven service points, 11-of-14 serving, one ace, five kills and three digs) also contributed for New Miami, which will host Summit Country Day on Saturday.
TALAWANDA 3, NORTHWEST 1: After falling in the first set, the Braves came back to win the Fort Ancient Valley Conference West Division contest 24-26, 27-25, 25-18, 25-15 on Thursday, Sept. 23. Meghan Bruder led Talawanda with 12 kills and three aces. Taylor Ruder (11 digs) and Maggie Johnson (three blocks) also contributed for the Braves (7-3, 7-1 FAVC West).
