BOYS SOCCER

FAIRFIELD 2, LOVELAND 2: Troy Wintermeyer and T.J. Newbright scored goals as the Indians recorded a tie in a nonleague matchup on Tuesday, Sept. 7. Fairfield is 0-4-1.

GIRLS SOCCER

BADIN 4, DAYTON CHAMINADE JULIENNE 1: Allie Crossley scored two goals, Lauren Mathews had a goal and two assists and Hannah Wimmers had a goal and an assist for the Rams on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Kim Golden also scored for Badin (2-1), and Abby Stapf, Ashley Mahoney and Morgan Pater also played well for the Rams.

ROSS 3, EDGEWOOD 1: Allie Higgins, Megan Strickland and Taylor Ahrens scored for the Rams (4-2, 2-0 Fort Ancient Valley Conference), who rallied from a 1-0 deficit in the second half on Wednesday. Anna Hall and Amanda Hagedorn had assists, and Nickki Hall recorded seven goal saves. Also playing well for Ross were Amanda McDonald, Sami Foley and Peyton Webster. Bree Williams scored for the Cougars (4-1, 1-1 FAVC) and Brooke Haynes had the assist. The contest was scoreless at halftime.

MOUNT NOTRE DAME 1, FAIRFIELD 0: The Indians (4-2) were led on offense by Julia Wood and Macy Hamblin and on defense by Hayley Swain.

EDGEWOOD 1, VALLEY VIEW 0: Maddie Slusher scored off an assist from Miranda Wright to lift the Cougars past the Spartans on Tuesday night, Sept. 7. EHS improved to 4-0-0 and Valley View fell to 2-3-1.

BOYS GOLF

HAMILTON 171, HARRISON 182: The medalist was Hamilton’s Nick Spurlock, who shot 38 at Twin Run Golf Course on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Teammate Chris Lindsey shot 43 and Steven Moore added a 44 for the Big Blue (5-8).

BADIN WINS TRI-MATCH: The Rams finished first on Wednesday at Kenwood Country Club with a score of 170, followed by Madeira, 172, and Wyoming, 173. The medalist for the sixth time this season was Badin’s Austin Sandor with a 1-over-par 36. Tyler Hammerle shot 41 for the Rams, who improved to 17-5-1. Wyoming is 15-5 and Madeira stands 8-10.

LAKOTA WEST 148, SYCAMORE 164: Korey Ward was the medalist with a 2-under-par 34 for the Firebirds (4-4) in Wednesday’s dual-meet at Glenview Golf Course. Jared Schroeder shot 37 for West, followed by teammates Marshall Stretch, 38, and Jeff Ray, 39.

EDGEWOOD 188, PREBLE SHAWNEE 237: Edgewood’s Cody Marcum and Cameron Williams each shot 46 to share medalist honors as the Cougars defeated Preble Shawnee on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at Weatherwax Golf Course. Matt Deaton shot 48 to lead the Arrows.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

FAIRFIELD 3, MONROE 0: The Indians defeated the Hornets 25-13, 25-16, 25-10 on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Leading players for the Indians were Karsen Cronin, 17 kills, four aces and 10 digs; Justine Kaminsky, 22 assists and two aces; Kynesha Pitts, four kills and a block; and Jamie Hoskinson, four aces and eight digs. Fairfield improved to 1-1. Monroe slipped to 2-4.

HARRISON 3, EDGEWOOD 0: Harrison won 25-14, 26-24, 26-24 in a match played on Tuesday, Sept. 7. Leading players for the Cougars (3-5 overall, 1-2 in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference) were Erin Sharp, six blocks, and Kathryn Voel and Amanda Hobbs, strong serving.
