NEW MIAMI — New Miami High School recently honored several student-athletes at its winter sports banquet.

The following athletes earned All-Miami Valley Conference academic honors with a 3.3 GPA or higher for the second quarter — Kim Gault, Alexandria Marshall, Amanda Matheney, Alyssa Rison, Janisha Lathan, Jessica Butler, Jessica Tatman, Kaylee Philpot, Timmy Isaac and Hannah Boell.

And a special “Above and Beyond Award” was presented to girls basketball team manager Daniel Marcum.

Team awards were presented to:

Boys Basketball — Dylan Wethington (Coach’s Award and honorable mention All-MVC), Jamar Kotey (second team All-MVC) and Casey Chestnut (honorable mention All-MVC).

Girls Basketball — Alexandria Marshall (Coach’s Award), Alyssa Rison (Best Defensive Player, second team All-MVC, honorable mention all-district), Heather Napier (Most Improved Player), Kim Gault (first team All-MVC and co-Player of the Year), Amanda Matheny (second team All-MVC), Janisha Lathan (honorable mention All-MVC), Lauren Davidson (honorable mention All-MVC).

Cheerleading — Kaylee Philpot (first team All-MVC).
