West grad Klinker earns minor league honor

ZEBULON, N.C. — Lakota West High School graduate Matt Klinker was named Class AA Southern League Pitcher of the Week on July 13.
Klinker, a member of the Carolina Mudcats, has won his first three AA starts, not allowing a run in the past two. He has a 1.00 ERA to go along with his 3-0 record.
Klinker was 2-2 with a 4.89 ERA before being promoted from Sarasota of the Florida State League.
