The Badin High School football team remains ranked in the Top 10 of The Associated Press poll despite suffering its first loss last week.
The Rams (3-1) fell from fourth to eighth in the Division V state poll following a 27-7 setback against Alter, the defending state champion and current No. 1-ranked team in Division IV.
The state’s other top-ranked teams are St. Ignatius (D-I), Louisville (D-II), Youngstown Mooney (D-III), Coldwater (D-V) and Delphos St. John’s (D-VI).
A state panel of sports writers and broadcasters does the voting for the AP poll.
The only other Butler County team receiving votes was Middletown. The unbeaten Middies (4-0) are 13th in Division I.
Behind St. Ignatius in Division I are Greater Catholic League teams St. Xavier, Elder and Moeller in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
Unbeaten Carlisle (4-0) cracked the Division IV top 10 at seventh, while Fenwick is 19th and Valley View 20th.
Turpin is third and Winton Woods seventh in Division II.
