BOYS SOCCER

MILFORD 3, FAIRFIELD 3: The Indians remain winless after tying Milford on Tuesday, Aug. 31. Troy Wintermeyer, Brandon Hoover and T.J. Newbright each scored goals, and Matt Feller had two assists for Fairfield (0-1-2), which will travel to Elder on Thursday.

GIRLS SOCCER

LAKOTA WEST 4, FAIRFIELD 0: Alex Azeez scored twice to lead the Firebirds to a Greater Miami Conference win on Tuesday, Aug. 31. Devyn Ciotti and Maggie Hare also scored for Lakota West. Lauren Pratt and Kelly Mack each had an assist. Fairfield falls to 2-1, 0-1 GMC, while the Firebirds improve to 3-0, 1-0 GMC. They play host to Milford on Thursday.

ROSS 1, WINTON WOODS 0: With 21 minutes left tin the second half, Whitney Ellinghausen scored for Ross and it proved to be the winning goal as Nikki Hall recorded five saves in goal for her first shutout of the season Tuesday, Aug. 31. Danielle Bogolo had the assist on the goal. Ross (3-1, 1-0 Fort Ancient Valley Conference West Division) will travel to Wyoming on Saturday.

EDGEWOOD 8, MOUNT HEALTHY 0: Bree Williams and Brooke Haynes each scored two goals to lead Edgewood on Tuesday, Aug. 31, in a Fort Ancient Valley Conference West Division win. Also scoring for the Cougars (3-0, 1-0 FAVC) was Kayla Harmon, Courtney Nantz, Kaylee Tegenkamp and Brooklyn Johnson. Edgewood will travel to Valley View on Tuesday.

MOUNT NOTRE DAME 6, LAKOTA EAST 2: The Cougars scored four unanswered goals to break a 2-2 first-half tie to defeat the host Thunderhawks 6-2 on Tuesday, Aug. 31. East (0-3) got goals from Sara Pearson and Andi Felix.

TALAWANDA 2, NORTHWEST 0: Taylor Cook and Lexie Froehlke each scored a goal to lead the Braves to a Fort Ancient Valley Conference West Division win on Tuesday, Aug. 31. Sam Farthing recorded 15 saves in goal for the shutout. Talawanda (3-0, 1-0 FAVC) will travel to Middletown today.

XENIA 3, HAMILTON 1: Emma Rosenbaum scored the only goal for Hamilton (2-2).

BOYS GOLF

ROSS 173, NORTHWEST 190: Andy Weaver shot a 3-over-par 39 on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at The Mill Course to lead the Rams to a Fort Ancient Valley Conference West Division win. Ross (5-2, 3-0 FAVC West) will play Norwood at Thursday at Circling Hills.

FAIRFIELD RED 153, HAMILTON 171: Ryan Barnes shot an even-par 36 on Monday, Aug. 30, at the Elk’s Golf Club to lead Fairfield Red to a Greater Miami Conference win. Barnes was the meet medalist and teammate Eric Hensler was the runner-up with a 37. Fairfield Red (3-3) will play St. Xavier today at Miami Whitewater.

HARRISON 175, EDGEWOOD 182: The Cougars lost a Fort Ancient Valley Conference West Division match to Harrison on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Weatherwax Golf Course. Art Borts led the Wildcats with a round of 41. Cody Marcum paced Edgewood with a 43. The Cougars will play Talawanda on Thursday at Indian Ridge.

ST. XAVIER 157, WYOMING 160, BADIN 164, MCNICHOLAS 179: Badin placed third in a quad match on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Twin Run Golf Course. The Rams’ Austin Sandor earned medalist honors with a 1-over-par 37. Adam Donges (40) and Tommy Saurber (42) also turned in solid rounds for Badin (10-4), which plays today in another quad match at Walden Ponds.

GIRLS GOLF

CARROLL 218, BADIN 233: Abby Wiles shot 41 to lead Carroll to a Girls Greater Cincinnati League win on Tuesday, Aug. 31. The Rams (0-4) were led by Hannah Morris (54), Britney McGraw (56) and Caity Corbissero (59). Badin will host Ursuline Academy today at Potter’s Park.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

NEW MIAMI 3, NORTH COLLEGE HILL 0: New Miami earned a nonleague win 25-14, 25-8, 25-8 at North College Hill on Tuesday, Aug. 31. Kayla Phillips had 23 service points with four aces on 28-of-28 serving to lead the Vikings (2-2). Brittany Miller (seven kills) and Alyssa Rison (six kills) also contributed. New Miami will travel to Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy on Thursday.

COLERAIN 3, BADIN 0: The Rams slipped to 1-1 on Tuesday, Aug. 31, with a 25-19, 25-21, 25-11 home loss. Leading Badin were Chrissy Carley (nine digs), Jordan Brown (five digs), Courtney Gildea (nine assists), Megan Purves (four kills, three aces) and Taylor Barreto (four kills). The Rams travel to Turpin for a tri-match Saturday.

WEST WINS FIRST TWO MATCHES: Lakota West defeated Centerville 3-1 on Monday, Aug. 30, to open its season, then came back Tuesday to beat McAuley 3-0. The Firebirds (2-0) beat the Elks 21-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 in four games, then beat McAuley 25-7, 25-17, 25-13 in three. Lakota West will host Mount Notre Dame on Thursday.

TALAWANDA 3, NORTHWEST 1: Talawanda needed four games to earn a Fort Ancient Valley Conference West Division win over Northwest on Tuesday, Aug. 31. The Braves won 25-9, 25-19, 14-25, 25-17 to improve to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the league. Meghan Bruder (nine digs), Allison Brown (six blocks), Lydia Dysart (nine kills) and Katie Compton (20 assists) all contributed in the win.

EDGEWOOD 3, MOUNT HEALTHY 2: Erin Sharp had 18 kills to help lead Edgewood to a Fort Ancient Valley Conference West Division win on Tuesday, Aug. 31. The Cougars won the five-game match 18-25, 25-22, 27-25, 23-25, 15-12. Bethany Kelly and Mariah Cox also contributed for Edgewood (2-0, 1-0), which will travel to Middletown today.
