Heath Stricker scored 21 points and Joe Marot scored nine of his 10 points in the fourth quarter to lead Badin High School over Madeira 55-46 on Tuesday night.
Badin (2-0) led 16-4 in the first quarter. Madeira rallied to take the lead in the second period, but Cameron Mohr’s basket with five seconds left in the quarter gave the Rams a 22-21 halftime lead.
Morgan Reynolds recorded a double-double for Badin, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Cincinnati Christian 63, Cincinnati Country Day 60: The Cougars rallied from a 42-21 deficit midway through the third quarter by finishing Tuesday’s game on a 42-18 run in their Miami Valley Conference opener.
Jordan Eiras led Cincinnati Christian with 21 points, including 19 in the second half, and was one of four players to reach double figures for the Cougars. The others were Kollin Thomas, 13 points; Ryan Arington, 13; and David Jeffries, 12. Arington also had four assists and three steals.
CCS improved to 2-0 overall. Cincinnati Country Day slipped to 0-2 and 0-1 in the MVC.
Ross 76, Taylor 44: The Rams jumped to a 43-15 halftime lead and cruised to their second victory in as many games.
Four Rams scored in double figures, led by Mac Mischkulnig with 23 points. Jake Shields had 12, and Brandon Fernandex and Tyler Noonan each added 11. Taylor fell to 1-2.
St. Bernard 70, New Miami 41: The Vikings were led Tuesday night by Lucas Holden with 19 points. New Miami fell to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the Miami Valley Conference.
Girls Basketball
Middletown 41, Monroe 39: Vada Edwards totaled 14 points and 10 steals for the Middies, who improved to 1-2. Noel Thompson scored 10 points for the Hornets (0-3), and Reegan Reece hauled in 15 rebounds.
Wrestling
Ross sweeps tri-meet 41: The Rams overpowered Little Miami 64-9 and Wyoming 75-0 on Tuesday. Joseph Jones (145 pounds) and John Kinkaid (182 and 195) each had two pins for Ross, which stands 2-0 in duals.
