Palmer might not like it, but Bengals need HBO exposure

Hot Topics

First there was a sigh. Then a roll of the eyes and a turn of the head.

I had just asked quarterback Carson Palmer how he feels about his teammates becoming HBO’s latest stars this summer when “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Cincinnati Bengals” unfolds from Georgetown (Ky.

First and foremost, all that Mike Brown cares about is filling those seats. Which makes him a very smart business mind, considering he has done that for 18 years. (even with the losses)
I am not saying he doesnt want to win, but the bottom line for him is dollars and cents. I think he has finally realized that putting a sub-par team on the field and expecting the mega turnout is over. With the economy the way it is and the turnout being sub-par you will start to see the bengals do good 10-6

The Bengals will get 9-10 wins this season.
Hard Knocks is good for them, it is like being on Monday night football, this will make them step up to the plate and perform. If the O line gives Carson that extra second he needs and opens some holes for the RB's we will be good to go. The Dee is going to be better.

The one thing the Bengals have in common over the last 18 is losing and Mike Brown. He may be a great bean counter but he is probably one of the worst people ever to run a professional team in history.

Mike Brown is an absolute clown and needs to step down.

Definition of Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. I will never attend another Bengal game
(23 year season ticket holder) until he is gone.

I didn't renew season tickets this year because the game experience has deteriorated the past few years. I'd rather just watch at home now.

"Remember: Team owner andpresident Mike Brown is a very smart businessman."

really?!?

"They’ve had one winning season in 18 years"

how can you write both of these in the same article chuck? very smart businessman if you dont consider wins or fans

"And let’s not forget that season tickets are available for the first time in three years. Paul Brown Stadium is nowhere near sold out."

i have lost all respect for you chuck. i know as local media you wanna talk up the team but please

Mike Brown needs the PR to help replenish the stadium seats on game day. Free PR is good but I don't think all the the players are mature enough to handle it, but we'll see how it goes. Chickster, I agree MB is a smart businessman. Up 'tll now he's been able to fill the stadium seats at a very minimal cost. He only needs us to think the Bengals can win a championship so we'll fill his seats. Might be tough this year with the Bengals and the economy (jobs and money)taking a dive at the same time.

Why do people keeping repeating the phrase "mike brown is a very smart businessman"? If my daddy had left me a business where no matter how bad my company performs, i still make millions of dollars, that would not make me a good businessman, just lucky. mike brown is just lucky!

at least the browns have 7 Championship trophys is their locker room.....how many do the bengals have?........0........

Yeah, joemamma, which means the Browns were last relevant during the Lyndon Johnson administration. Oh, and btw, the franchise that won those championships now resides in Baltimore. The mistake-on-the-lake now hosts a sub-par 10 year old expansion team.

"Could always be worse. Could be a Browns fan."

No offense, but how is that worse? The bengals are a much worse franchise than the browns, and im a steelers fan saying this.

Chick, why the mis-information? There's probably less than 3,000-4,000 tickets on sale for each home game this year!

I was at the stadium for the practice. the stadium is about 93% sold on a season ticket basis.

I don't think the other 7% will be hard to sell for a home opener, pittsburgh, chicago, and the clowns. Get real Chick. The bengals will have more games to add to the consecutive streak.

Another season that is. Is that 52 or 53 straight? Not bad for a "bad" team.

I'm very excited for Hard Knocks. I think it will show the world that they're not a bunch of thugs, and will give them confidence to make the playoffs and be like the cardinals of last year! GO BENGALS! WHODEY!

How are you going to win over fans from other states while watching the circus? They will come from other states to purchase season tickets?? Huh?? Get Real! Mike Brown deserves for people not to pay into his circus anymore.

It would be more fitting if they were on the Comedy Channel.
