I really enjoy how easy it is to loathe the cornerbacks on the Seattle Seahawks. I mean, the whole team is pretty loathe-worthy. They are division rivals, so that might have something to do with it, but everything from Pete Carroll's inability to stand still on the sideline to, well, Russell Wilson's existence just irks me. And, frankly, that's how it should be with division rivals. Irrational distaste; it's one of the beauties of sports. I sure believe that Seahawks fans dislike Jim Harbaugh's, umm, boisterous sideline etiquette and the fact that Colin Kaepernick is a better QB than their QB. And they are just as irrationally justified as I am.
But sometimes, rival teams just hand you gifts. And the gift that keeps on giving? The Seattle Seahawks' secondary.
Really, I should say their CBs. Earl Thomas, for example, is really good and should be a 49er (please? You know you want to...). But, Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner are just lol-worthy stoopid-heads who say stupid things that make me happy. We all remember the Sherman-Bayless spat of 2013. I didn't think it was possible for any human being to look like an idiot more than Skip Bayless, and then Sherman opened his mouth.
But now, Brandon Browner has publically stated that he wishes Harbaugh were still playing football so that he could put his hands around Harbaugh's neck. This, as Bay Area Sports Guy points out, was what Browner said without understanding the context of Harbaugh's recent comments regarding the Seahawks' drug suspensions. It's like he is begging the world to dislike him.
Now, I don't seriously think that Browner wishes to inflict physical pain upon Harbaugh. And, this is not even close to the first time a sports figure has said something stupid in public (remember, we have a CB who has said a couple of stupid things in the recent past). But, these remarks make the irrational sports fan gleeful. If the CBs on the Seahawks can keep fueling my distaste of the team by acting like children, that would be just great.
