Jungle Jim’s Weekend of Fire: 4 new attractions

Butler County’s hottest food festival is set to scorch taste buds this weekend for its 11th consecutive year.

Jungle Jim’s Weekend of Fire, set for Saturday and Sunday, will feature more booths to explore, more food to eat and some enticing new elements.

1. Twice as much eating contest space

All of the things at past Weekend of Fires will be present, including scores of hot sauces, barbecue sauces, spices, rubs and salsas on display, ready to sample and purchase. But this year’s event will feature two spaces for the Arena of Fire, Jungle Jim’s hot-food-eating-contest area.

2. Bloody Mary Bar makes its return

Jungle Jim’s is bringing back one creation from another festival for this year’s Weekend of Fire: the Bloody Mary Bar.

“Of course, we’ll have all the traditional ingredients for these out of this world mixed drinks, but it wouldn’t be Weekend of Fire if we didn’t try to spice things up a bit,” said Jungle Jim’s spokesman Jared Bowers.

3. Food trucks added to lineup

Weekend of Fire expands its food options to include local food trucks and barbecue restaurants.

They’ll all be inside and next to The Greenhouse.

4. Cooking school gets a fiery new option

Learn a thing or two from hot sauce heroes as some of the biggest names in the hot sauce world, many of them inductees in the Hot Sauce Hall of Hall of Fame, stop by the Jungle Jim’s Cooking School to give lessons.
