Restaurants that are open and serving holiday dinner on Thanksgiving Day

We have found a few more Miami Valley restaurants that will be open and serving a special holiday meal on Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 23.

It’s highly recommended to make reservations as soon as possible at those restaurants that are accepting them, and to call ahead at others to see if there’s a wait. Demand for these special dinners is usually robust, but there still may be time to secure a spot at the table.

Burkey Family Restaurant at 670 Shiloh Springs Road, Trotwood (across from Hara Arena), will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day serving Roast Turkey with Dressing and Honey Baked Ham among many entrees. Entrees range from $10.95 to $16.95. Reservations accepted. Call (937) 275-7127.

The Wright Place at 2800 Presidential Drive in the Holiday Inn, Fairborn-I-675, will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. serving roasted turkey with stuffing, harvest salad, whipped potatoes, green bean casserole, baked ham, roasted root vegetables, sweet corn bake, breads and assorted desserts.

The cost is $27 for adults, $21 for seniors 60 and over and for members of the military, $14 for kids 6 to 12, and children under 5 eat free. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Laura Rozen at (937) 431-4611.

Hasty Tasty at 509 Linden Ave. in Dayton will be open from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, serving a special dinner that includes dessert. The cost is $9.95/$10.95. No reservations necessary, but if you have a large party, let the restaurant know you're coming. For more information, call

The Wellington Grille at 2450 Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek will be open from noon to 7 p.m., with the final  seating at 6 p.m. A full Thanksgiving dinner will be available, as will some regular menu items. Reservations are limited. Call (937) 426-4600 to check availability.

Mimi's Cafe at 4402 Walnut St. at The Greene in Beavercreek will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., serving a breakfast/brunch bar in the morning and offering a special Thanksgiving dinner, along with a handful of other menu options, starting at 11 a.m. The special dinner includes choice of soup or Mimi's house or Caesar salad, roasted turkey, gravy, buttered cornbread stuffing, whipped mashed potatoes, candied pecan sweet potatoes, green bean casserole with French fried onions, apple cranberry orange relish, bread basket and choice of brown sugar pumpkin pie or bourbon pecan pie. Barn-n-Bunk Farm Market restaurant at 3677 Wayne Madison Road in Trenton will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., serving a Thanksgiving Day buffet. The cost is $12.99 adults, $6.99 children 10 and under. INFO/RESERVATIONS: Call (513) 988-9211.

Carvers Steaks and Chops

11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thanksgiving s
erving a traditional three-course Turkey Dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, glazed carrots, cranberry sauce, choice of soup or salad, bread and pumpkin pie.

Rob's Restaurant at 705 Arlington Road, Brookville will offer a traditional Thanksgiving buffet from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $10.99 for adults, $5.99 for kids. Reservations are accepted, and the restaurant also will have open dining for call-ahead customers. The recommendation is to call one hour ahead of the time you want to arrive to confirm whether the restaurant can fit you in.

Bob Evans Restaurants will be open until 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Opening times will vary, so check with your local restaurant. A special Thanksgiving lunch/dinner menu available after 11 a.m. featuring a choice of roasted turkey and dressing, ham or country-fried steak with a choice of three sides, endless bread and a slice of pie for $14.99. A kids' special menu includes turkey with two sides, endless bread, a slice of pumpkin pie and a kids' beverage for $6.99.

Harrison's Restaurant at 106 E. Main St. in Tipp City (937-667-5200) will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, taking the last reservations at 5 p.m. Cost of the special holiday dinner will be $17.95 for adults and $9.50 for children 10 and under. The menu will include oven roasted turkey, celery & sage dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, house-made cranberry sauce, and Pumpkin Pie, Warm Apple Crisp or Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate Sauce.

El Meson in West Carrollton is hosting a "Thanksgiving Feast" from noon to 6 p.m., with last reservations being accepted at 5 p.m., on Nov. 23. Dishes are priced individually. Reservations may be made at (937) 859-8299.

The special menu will include a Roasted Turkey Dinner, served with chorizo and bread stuffing, potato and butternut squash mash and Colombian fried rice!. Other Latin entree specialties such as Paella Valencia and Coconut Crusted Fishalso will be available, as will a variety of tapas.

Roost Events — formerly Roost American and Park City Club at 580 Lincoln Park Blvd. in Kettering — will host its first holiday dinner since announcing its name change and switch to an events-only concept.

The special holiday menu will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 23. The cost is $29.95 per person, $14.95 for children 5 to 12, and children 4 and under eat free. Reservations are required and can be made at (937) 222-3100.

At Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, located at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek, a special Thanksgiving menu is available for $40 per person, starting at 11 a.m. For children under 12, a special Children's Thanksgiving menu will be offered for $15. Reservations may be made by calling 937-320-9548.

Amuse-Bouche

Buttermilk biscuits with pumpkin butter and honey

First Course: choice of Fleming’s salad or lobster bisque

Main Course: Mixed herb-roasted turkey breast with gravy served with cranberry, orange and cinnamon sauce with house-made sage and brioche bread stuffing. Sides include roasted sweet potatoes with marshmallow; green beans with bacon, onion and almond; and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes.

Dessert course: choice of Pumpkin Cheesecake with Chantilly cream and caramel glaze or carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and dark-rum caramel drizzle.
