The Isley Brothers

“Frida”

For mainstream American audiences, Frida Kahlo, the celebrated Mexican artist, is best known as the subject of the 2002 film, “Frida,” starring Salma Hayek. The opera version of her life was created in 1993 by Hilary Blecher, Robert Xavier Rodriguez, and Migdalia Cruz, and is now coming to the Aronoff Center for the Arts, 650 Walnut St., Cincinnati, on June 23-July 8. Cincinnati Pride Parade and Festival

The celebrity grand marshal for Cincinnati’s annual pride parade will be Lea DeLaria (Boo from “Orange Is The New Black”). The subsequent festival will feature two stages of live entertainment, including drag showcases and the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus. The parade and festival takes place on June 24. The parade starts at the intersection of Seventh Street and Central Avenue at 11 a.m. and ends at the festival site, Sawyer Point, 705 E. Pete Rose Way.
