Comedian Sarah Silverman has never been one to shy away from controversy. Over the weekend, Silverman retweeted a list of tongue-in-cheek rape prevention tips aimed at men. Quartz reports that the list was first included in a 2011 blog post.
The list includes such tips as "Don't put drugs in women's drinks" and "When you encounter a woman who is asleep, the safest course of action is to not rape her."
The list was given a high profile boost after appearing on Silverman’s official Twitter account. Not everyone appreciated the satirical list, and a group of men blasted Silverman for posting it.
Women were overall more supportive.
Silverman’s tweet has been retweeted thousands of times.
