Jake Harris of ‘Deadliest Catch' recovering after severe beating

Jake Harris of television series "Deadliest Catch" is recovering in a hospital after a severe beating over the weekend.

Jake Harris' brother, Cornelia Marie Captain Josh Harris, shared details of his brother's attack in two live videos on a Facebook page called Deadliest Catch - F/V Cornelia Marie.

Josh Harris said Jake was "jumped" Saturday at about 8 p.m. and was in an intensive care unit with a "cracked skull" and brain trauma.

The victim's brother said Jake was beaten and then thrown out of a moving vehicle onto the side of a state highway, but Everett police only were able to confirm that people in another car saw Jake along the highway and called 911 to get help.

Medics arrived and checked out Jake Harris, who declined to go to the hospital or file a police report.

He was later taken to Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington, by relatives, where he remains in the ICU.

Josh said Jake had gotten a ride home from a couple who had been at the Quil Ceda Creek Casino near Marysville, Washington, but it was unclear if that's where Jake had met the couple and where the actual beating took place.

Josh said a man and a woman from Spokane are the suspects that Jake had identified and that the "word on the street" is that they had done such attacks before in which the victims were beaten and their money was stolen. He showed their pictures and named them in one of the two videos posted.

KIRO has not confirmed that the people named in one of the videos are suspects in the attack and are not yet showing the video or pictures containing their names and photos.

Josh Harris said he had met with detectives though his brother had declined.

Jake Harris has had past struggles with drug abuse as shown on "Deadliest Catch."
