HAMILTON — Caked in fake blood from head to feet, a throng of “walking dead” created a scene akin to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” during the first “Hamilton Zombie Walk/Pub Crawl.”

As area residents walked downtown around city buildings to the High/Main Bridge Saturday, Oct. 17, motorists honked their horns and amateur photographers captured shots of the creepiest ghouls in the bunch.

Zombie brides, Sunseray Weber, 27, of Hamilton and her young daughters, Deja and Kionia, were among about 100 participants.

“I just love Halloween,’’ said Sunseray Weber, clad in a white wedding dress and veil covered in fake blood. “It’s the only time of year that you can get dressed up and scare the hell out of people.’’

Kionia, 7, with her face covered in white makeup and black circles around her eyes, offered a simpler reason for being among the walking dead: “It’s cool.’’

The zombie walk was the brainchild of Hamilton residents Tim Couch and Quentin Judd.

The men were inspired by similar walks nationwide that can be seen via YouTube. Both said they hope it becomes an annual event.

Asked to explain his and others’ interest in zombies, Judd said: pure fun.

“Being an adult, it gives you a reason to be a kid again.’’

Paul Lamb, 45, of Hamilton and his wife, Teresa, 41, agreed.

They attended the event with their niece, Megan Davidson, 6, who had black circles around her eyes and walked growling with outstretched arms.

“It’s family fun,’’ Paul Lamb said. “We don’t go to bars or anything like that so we got to find something to do.’’
