“Cupid, draw back your bow-oh. I’ve got no decent cash flow-oh. I need a cheap place to go, just my sweetheart and me. Oh help me plee-ee-ee-ee-ease!”

OK, so it’s not exactly as poetic as what Sam Cooke sang, but that is a dilemma shared by many. But there is a solution.

Several local fast food restaurants are pulling out all the stops this year, offering romantic meals, special deals, and even a few treats that will make the pickiest of sweeties swoon.

“Our Blue Ash location has been offering a Valentine’s Day dinner for years, and we decided to join in to give people on a budget another option,” said Veronica Marcum, Manager of the Hamilton Skyline.

The restaurant is offering a three-course Valentine’s meal at the Hamilton, and Hicks Boulevard, Fairfield locations, from 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 14. The dinner will feature your choice of a side salad or Chilito or Coney, a regular-sized chili spaghetti dinner or burrito or wrap, a piece of cake and your choice of drink. Two people can enjoy the meal for $26.99, and all ladies will receive a complimentary red rose, and a souvenir picture. Both locations will have live entertainment and prizes. Reservations for the candlelight dinner are recommended.

If burgers are more your style, Sonic’s Hamilton and Landen locations are offering a Valentine’s Day, Brown Bag Special which includes two Sonic burgers, two fries or tater tots, and two 20 oz. drinks for $7.99. Sonic owner Todd Harmon said the special is being offered all day on the 14th, for anyone dining in or carrying food out.

Slider fans still have time to make their reservations for the annual Sweetheart of a Meal dinner at White Castle. All greater Cincinnati locations will offer food specials and photos from 5 to 8 p.m. on the 14th, and coupons are available if you “like” White Castle on Facebook. The White Castle management plans to put photos from the dinner on its website so you may want to leave the pajama pants and tank tops at home.

Finally, if you find staying home with your loved one is more appealing than going out, you can always order a heart-shaped pizza from any area Richard’s Pizza location. Even though the pizzas are available all year, Valentine’s Day is when most people order them. While they come with your choice of a wide variety of toppings, a basic, cheese heart is $7.65. The heart-shaped pizzas are also available for those choosing to dine in.
