FAIRFIELD — A new restaurant featuring oversized portions and 13 flat-screen televisions has opened in the area.

Buster’s, 3463 Tylersville Road, has been open for about two weeks, but isn’t yet serving food. Owner Fred Ellison explained kitchen equipment still needs to be delivered and staff trained.

While food isn’t being served, a full bar and a happy hour are bringing in some business, he said.

Ellison said he came up with the menu “off the top of my head.” Wraps, Buster Burgers, salads and sandwiches, all of which are oversized, will be on the menu.

“You’ll have to take something home with you, unless you’re really hungry,” he said, noting the Buster Burger will be “gigantic.”

Hamburgers will cost around $4.50, and double deckers around $5.75, he said. A happy hour with discounted drinks will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Ellison, who also owns Memories in Fairfield, said the location off Ohio 4 Bypass was ideal.

“I wanted to open a place right there ... on the borderline of Fairfield, Fairfield Twp. and Hamilton. It’s an up and coming area,” he said.

He described Buster’s as a “community place” and said it’s a “good place (for people) to sit there and enjoy themselves and have a nice cold beer and a nice sandwich.”

While Ellison was able to brainstorm his own menu, he did have some inspiration for his new restaurant’s name.

“I have a pug and his name is Buster. That’s where we got the name,” he said.
