If you want to get some early holiday shopping done or just miss those summer garage sales, Hara Arena has you covered this weekend.

The Trotwood site is hosting Shop ’Till You Drop, a huge garage sale/flea market, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25.

Admission is $1.50 for the event, which takes place four times a year at Hara Arena and has been held there for about three years.

Karen Wampler, Hara marketing director, said the sale is a mix of professional vendors, private citizens running estate sales and perennial sellers that are a mix of those.

“It varies per show,” she said. “But, if all goes well, we should have 170 vendors (this weekend).”

Wampler said the March show had just shy of 5,000 attendees. She added that many of the vendors accept credit cards, but “cash is the best.”

Shoppers also can expect to find an eclectic mix of merchandise.

“Some border on antiques,” she said. “There are things that you won’t find at general retailers.”

Wampler said a friend who had never been at the sale before texted her during the event last year to say: “Find my husband. Send money.”

Wampler mentioned other features of the sale include climate control, concessions and convenient parking.

The event will be held in Hara’s East Hall, which is the site’s largest exhibition hall.

Wampler added that there is talk of adding another outdoor flea market in March, and making it a weekly event.
