The AP reported that Reinhold, 59, would not let agents inspect his backpack, which had DVDs and CDs inside, after it set off an alarm.

Steve Stodghill, Reinhold's attorney, told the Dallas Morning News Thursday his client didn't understand why he was stopped when he passed through the scanner without setting off any alarms.

Reuters reported that Reinhold was arrested after not letting agents pat him down.

Authorities said Reinhold was told he could be patted down in a private room, but he continued to be belligerent and police were called.

"I took issue with the procedure," Reinhold told WFAA when he was released from jail Friday. "It was a battle of wills where I decided not to do the procedure and they called the officer. I know better than to be angry."

Reinhold agreed when a reporter asked if he was taking a stand with something he didn't agree with, but he said it "didn't get me anywhere."

"I've been a friend of law enforcement for 30 years since 'Beverly Hills Cop,'" he said. "On both sides, I've received friendship and I've given friendship, and I'm just embarrassed."

Reinhold apologized, and said that he was initially frustrated with TSA, but took it out on a Dallas police officer.

"I feel badly about that," he said.
