New grocery offers food items from India, Pakistan, Nepal

India Bazar, a new grocery store specializing in food from India, Pakistan, Nepal and other neighboring countries is set to open the week of Jan. 8 in West Chester Twp.

The 6,000-square-foot storefront at 4870 Union Centre Pavilion Dr. is the work of business partners Daljit Singh, of Mason, and Ramandeep Kaur, of Greenwood, Ind.

Singh said he and Kaur signed a five-year lease for the space, which is located in the Union Centre Pavilion shopping center on the southeast corner of Ohio 747 and Union Centre Boulevard in the same plaza as West Chester Antique Center.

The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

Singh said that he and Kaur expect the business to mainly receive its support from the area’s Indian community, but that it likely is to receive customers who enjoy shopping for Indian products to use in their own home cooking.
