Auto dealer now Butler County’s largest private company

The largest Butler County-based, privately-held company is now Fairfield's Performance Automotive Network, which accumulated approximately $977 million in revenues last year, according to the annual Deloitte Cincinnati USA 100 list published in November by Cincinnati Enquirer.

The list ranks the largest privately-owned companies in the Tri-state region. At the top of the newest ranking is freight brokerage firm Total Quality Logistics, which reported 2014 revenues exceeding $2 billion.

This is Total Quality’s second year at the top; last year it unseated food manufacturer AdvancePierre Foods Inc. which has since moved its headquarters from West Chester Twp. to Blue Ash. AdvancePierre Foods is still No. 2 with about $1.6 billion in sales, according to the publication.

AdvancePierre still operates a major administrative support center and a meat production plant on Princeton-Glendale Road in West Chester Twp.

Family-owned Performance Automotive closed in November a deal to buy the company's 16th dealership, a Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram showroom in Centerville. Performance Automotive operates dealerships in the Greater Cincinnati region, Columbus area, and in the Salt Lake City, Utah, area.

“We have purchased seven dealerships in the last two years,” Performance Automotive Vice President Shane Dever told this news outlet recently.
