Are Halloween costumes too grown-up for teens?
We all know the sexy nurse is a Halloween costume staple.
But for teen-agers?
It seems every year, more kids are wearing less clothes to go door-to-door to get candy.
Then there are French maid outfits, with skirts up to there. One website full of costumes had the inexplicable Pirate Teen Princess costume. Its description says: ‘Seek the hidden jewels with this hot pirate princess costume.’
Do you think costumes are too racy for teen-agers? Do you have rules on what your child can wear?

Whatever happened to the Beggar, Ghost and Ghoul? Even the classic glasses with big nose and mustache will do.

The beggar, ghost and ghoul don’t attract the boys. Skirts up to the waist and necklines down to the waist are what attracts the boys. A lot of properly placed make-up on a ten year old girl also attracts the older boys and makes her friends jealous.

Has anyone really seen a teen wearing these costumes trick-or-treating? These costumes are worn to Halloween parties.

No matter what they are worn to, they shouldn’t be worn. I’m only a couple years out from having been a teenager myself, and I think they are far too racy. Even for little girls, they almost seem like they are trying to look sexy. My daughter is going to be a gnome. She picked, don’t ask. ;) We went to WalMart to pick up some stuff for her costume and decided to take a look at the little girls costumes. They were all fairy princesses and what-not, but they were all short skirts or dresses. I mean, it’s OCTOBER for crying out loud! These kids should be bundled up, or at least wearing pants! I hate all the toddlers and small children I see on trick-or-treat night in skirts and not short sleeves, because a jacket wouldn’t go with their costumes. It’s dumb.

Might as well acclimate teen girls to their eventual objectification early, so they’ll understand their role in life later. Nothing like picking out a slutty Halloween costume to remind them that God put women on Earth for the pleasure of men and consequently to cook, clean and make babies.

Halloween has gotten cheesey, perverse and commercial. Where are the scary things anymore? It seems all costumes are cutesy, or perverse. Where are the scary ghost, vampires and skeletons? What happened to Halloween?

These companies, making these costumes are out to do ONE THING: make money. My question isn’t what happened to Halloween, it’s WHERE ARE THE PARENTS?

What ever happened to the fun of making your own costume? Not only are store bought costumes entirely too expensive, but most of them are incredibly inappropriate. Where did innocent fun disappear to?

Actually, a scantily clad “firefighter” & “policewoman” trick-or-treated in my neighborhood last year. I happen to know those girls were 13 & 14. Yes~I believe those costumes to be inappropriate for young-to-mid teen girls. But what about the offensive “costumes” teen boys often wear {i.e. gynecologist, mammogram machine, etc}? Those outfits may not be barely there, but they are definitely just as unnecessary as their female counterparts.
