Two memorials in the works for the late Paul Russell

Two memorials are being planned for Paul Russell, the local wine community member and jazz enthusiast who passed away Dec. 3 while en route to Jay’s Kitchen Door for its Saturday afternoon wine tasting.

The first will be held this Sunday, Dec. 18, at Jazz Central at 2931 E. Third St. in Dayton, which will dedicate the Sunday Jazz Jam to Paul’s memory. The music spot’s web site says the jazz jam will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight.

A second memorial gathering is scheduled for Jan. 21 at Jay’s. Final details are not yet complete, but will likely include a wine luncheon.
