Former co-owner of Manor Wine dies; visitation today
Raymond Zuelke, 79, who with his wife Marguerite owned and operated Manor Wine Shop in Riverside for 16 years, died Tuesday, May 31 at The Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy illness.
Here is the obituary for Mr. Zuelke that was published in this morning’s Dayton Daily News. I knew of Zuelke’s wine-shop and systems-analyst lives, but I most certainly did NOT know that he met Marguerite when he was working as an instructor at an Arthur Murray Dance Studio. His was a life well-lived.
Uncorked looked back with nostalgia on Manor Wine back in February after the shopping center that houses the shop burned down. Many of the comments on that post mention Ray and Marguerite with great fondness.
Visitation is today, Thursday June 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tobias Funeral Home Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave in Centerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00a.m. Friday, June 3, at the Church of the Incarnation, 55 Williamsburg Lane, Centerville. In lieu of flowers, tributes in Ray’s memory may be made to The Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420, according to the obituary.
