New wine bar now open on Far Hills Avenue
The new Rumble Seat Wine bar and retail shop that we told you about most recently on July 1 is now open at 5853 Far Hills Ave. just north of Whipp Road in Washington Twp.
The wine bar is owned by Thomas E. Smith of Washington Twp. and is managed by Chris Holloway, who worked for several years at Arrow Wine & Spirits’ Centerville store and more recently for the Cork & Vine wine bar and retail shop off of Miller Lane.
The wine bar opened Saturday, Aug. 8, and was pouring a selection of whites and reds by the three-ounce or six-ounce pours in addition to selling wines by the bottle. Rumble Seat Wine has the license to serve spirits and mixed drinks as well as beer and wine, although those drinks aren’t offered at the tasting bar just yet. The shop plans to offer beer samples alongside the wine samples, and is also putting together wine-appreciation classes, Holloway said.
Rumble Seat Wine is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call (937) 938-9801.

Love this place! Comfortable, friendly and the manager is very informative. Not so much a great place to watch a football game. TV is way too small for that but it’s a fun place to be with friends after a long day at work before going home. Love the wine selections,cheese and crackers and love the location. Might want to extend your hours until at least 9:00pm. Wish you the best of luck!!

Visited on Saturday. They have the right idea—their main focus is sales—I think calling them a wine bar isn’t quite accurate. You can taste and purchase wine by the glass, but the focus is on trying different things and the owner is VERY knowledgeable. Looking for ambiance or a place to go out in the evening, go elsewhere. Looking to try some unique wines you won’t see in every other retail establishment—give Rumbleseat a try.

Hmmm-I live 4 blocks away-if I need a bottle of wine I will go to DLM who is open passed 8pm. If I want a glass of wine or so I will go to Madison’s-also open pass 8.Banker’s hours don’t belong in the wine world.

When you guys get serious about this give me a call. My mom will let me stay out till midnight. Why not open a car wash from 10pm to 5am. Get a clue fellas. A bar needs to be open LATER than 8pm. And don’t say it is just a tasting thing, you have hard liquor so you are a bar.

Why not change the hours to 5 pm to 8 pm. Most people work during the day if they still have jobs.

Sounds awesome…but 10 am to 8 pm. Most people work days and don’t like to drink wine until later…maybe its just me but I would think being open later would be better LOL
