New wine bar and wine shop coming to Far Hills Avenue
A new wine bar and retail wine shop is coming to Washington Twp.
The shop is called Rumble Seat Wine, and it will open soon at 5853 Far Hills Ave. between Caribou Coffee and a Midas Muffler Shop in Washington Twp.
The wine bar and shop will be owned and operated by Thomas E. Smith of Washington Twp., who said the shop will have a wine-warehouse feel, with cases of wine stacked in the retail shop and and wines, beers and spirits available by the glass at the bar.
Matt Mullins, spokesman for the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control, said Smith has applied for an available full liquor license which is “in process” and pending approval and issuance. Smith said he is hoping to open Rumble Seat Wine as early as the end of May.
Smith said he has no previous restaurant or wine-shop experience, but described himself as a wine hobbyist who wants to turn his hobby into a business. He said he’ll offer more detailed plans for the shop in the coming weeks.
