Arrow’s 75th anniversary tasting taking shape nicely
Arrow Wine & Spirits, as part of its 75th anniversary celebration that will extend through the year, is hosting a Special Winemakers Tasting from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6 at Arrow’s Centerville store at 615 Lyons Road. This is a drop-in event, with the prices of wine samples based on the cost of the wine, so no reservations are required.
According to the Arrow folks, seven winemakers scheduled to be part of the tasting are from Boeger, Kings Ridge, Rathbone Wine Group (Australian wines - Mt. Langi-Ghiran, Yering Station), Via Pacifica (New Zealand wines - Bird, Huia, Trinity Hill, Spinyback), Gerard Bertrand and Terre Rouge.
Ann Boucher, marketing director for Cutting Edge Selections wine distributor that is collaborating with Arrow for the tasting, provided a list of some of the wines that will be available at the tasting, and, well, let’s just say the event shows great promise. In addition to the producers mentioned above, wines will be tasted from Broadbent Seletions and Robert Kacher Selections, among others.
Seventy-five years in business is a significant milestone, and it looks like Arrow is starting off a year of celebrations on the right foot. For more information about the event, call (937) 433-6778.

Seriously Mark, how could you make a mistake like that.

Ann: Wow, what a brain cramp I must have had. I have made the correction in the Uncorked entry, and my apologies!

Mark, Upon reading this morning’s post I was stunned (and horrified) to find that I (Ann Boucher) was described as the “Marketing Director for Vanguard Wines.” Your post even gave a hyper-link to this firm’s web page. The problem is I’m presently serving this role, among many others, with the very fine folks at Cutting Edge Selections! Drew Neiman and I founded Vanguard Wines in 1997, and I managed the company up until my very abrupt departure about three and a half years ago. Let me assure you and all of your readers that I will in no way endorse, tolerate, abide, or otherwise countenance even the slightest affiliation with Mr. Neiman and Vanguard Wines, even if the purported relationship is the result of and honest mistake! If I may, I would ask for a brief correction so as to alleviate any possible confusion among my valued retail and restaurant clients and the wine drinking public. As for the upcoming event at Arrow, we here at Cutting Edge are very excited. Unfortunately, Trentadue Winery had to cancel due to scheduling conflicts, but I’m happy to report that a few more top-shelve wineries/importers came on board. These include Broadbent Selections (Chateau Musar), Boutique Imports (de Trafford), Robert Kacher Selections (Andre Brunel and Les Cailloux) and Four Sisters Winery. I look forward to seeing you and all of the great folks in Dayton that I have come to know and love over the years. By the way, if you and your readers would like to visit a fun website, created entirely by me,go to www.cuttingedgeselections.com. Best Regards, Ann Boucher
