Rogers’ attorney: Kay not running
Apparently, it’s been too long since my last post, because it turns out that former Butler County Auditor Kay Rogers is NOT running for elected office again.
At least, that’s what her attorney told county reporter Josh Sweigart in this story.
The attorney for Rogers (who pleaded guilty last year to federal fraud charges and is awaiting sentencing) said his client merely picked up petitions “as a favor for someone else who is a candidate.”
Konrad Kircher, her attorney on the federal criminal case, declined to comment for this story by The Cincinnati Enquirer when asked why Rogers had pulled a petition.
We do know Rogers picked up a petition for her son, Sean, who is at least considering the idea of running for one of two open positions on the West Chester Twp. Board of Trustees. He has yet to return repeated calls to confirm, however.
For more on Rogers’ legal troubles, visit Sweigart’s blog entry about why the West Chester resident is still awaiting sentencing. Thoughts on any of this?
