West Chester finances in good shape
West Chester Twp. officials were presented recently with an award from the state Auditor’s Office regarding their 2007 financial report.
The release follows below.
The reason for the delay (being that it’s 2009) is the time spent reviewing the township’s financial report and the time it takes to set up the award presentation, according to the Auditor’s Office.
Still, it’s rare, according to the release, with less than 5 percent of government entities statewide being such recognized.
My question initially was, should residents feel good about this? Should they put more trust into township trustees who are handling the public’s money?
Steve Faulkner, with the Auditor’s Office, said, “The folks of West Chester should be very proud of this honor. The community should feel good that the people they elected into office are doing something they should be proud of.”
Another Butler County entity, Oxford, also received the award.
