Water, sewer rate decreases coming for West Chester, Liberty
Butler County Commissioners just announced this morning, Feb. 5, a long list of cuts they’ll be making in order to balance the budget.
Among them are cuts in the water and sewer department that could lead to a 4 percent drop in water rates and 11 percent drop in sewer rates for residential customers. Savings are expected to be higher for commercial customers.
Here’s the rest of the story from county reporter Josh Sweigart.

I’m certainly not going to complain about my water or sewer rates going down, but exactly how does cutting the staff and cutting rates help balance the budget? It would seem to me that the two cancel each other out.
