MetroParks: Tax may be needed for VOA
If you recall, officials from the county’s MetroParks spoke before trustees a few weeks back to outline a plan for massive improvements to Voice of America Park.
Thursday, Dec. 4, those folks came before Butler County Commissioners to update them on the plan, and added they may need a bond issue in 2011 to help fund those improvements.
County reporter Josh Sweigart has the rest of that story here.

I thought the whole reason the property was transfered to the county in the first place was because they had the ability (read funding) to develop the park better than what West Chester could. While I’m not opposed to the development plans they have up there and I’m sure it will be nice, but most or all of what they propose is already available in West Chester, or Mason and Liberty for that matter. So I don’t see how they could think anybody would be willing to fund the development through a levy. I think their just afraid they won’t get it completed in ten years and will have to revert the park back to West Chester.
