Candidates to circle the area this week

They’re not stopping in town, but political junkies can still rejoice; presidential candidates are paying visits to the area over the next few days.

Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is expected to arrive in Cincinnati this afternoon, in preparation for an appearance tomorrow with John McCain at The Golden Lamb in Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Democrat candidate Barack Obama and his wife are scheduled to be in the area as well, he in Dayton and she in Cincinnati.

I suspect many in West Chester Twp. remember the hubbub surrounding the sitting president’s visit to VOA Park during the last election, and political pundits have been talking about Ohio’s role in picking a president since before ‘04.

So is the candidates’ attention a sign we’ll be seeing a lot more of them in the area? If either side comes to West Chester Twp, will you go see him or her?

There is no question that presidential politics will play a major role in this quadrant of the state, specifically, Warren, Butler and Clermont. These voters are primarily conservative and with Palin Power, you have seen an energized party that is ready to do battle.
