JEDD information on the bill for tonight’s trustee meeting
For those of you who have been following the progress of the West Chester Twp’s proposed JEDD for GE’s new engineering division, tonight would be a good night to attend the township trustee meeting.
According to the draft of the night’s agenda, township administrator Judi Boyko is scheduled to update trustees on the JEDD, a key component to the agreement that is bringing over 1,000 jobs to the township.
What I’ve been told thus far is that the JEDD, like all such agreements, will require a partnership with a municipality that can manage income and earnings taxation in the affected area (in this case, the GE property on the corner of Cin-Day and Union Centre). I’m hoping tonight’s meeting will provide some info on what municipalities might be willing to work with us, and on what that agreement might look like.
If you don’t make it to the meeting, keep your eye on the Pulse-Journal’s website. I’ll write a story about what happens tonight, and it’ll be posted there.
