Downtown taking shape?

There is a story coming in this week’s Pulse-Journal about part of the development being heralded as West Chester Twp’s new downtown - the Union Centre Boulevard area. Keep your eye here and on pulsejournal.com for the story.

In the meantime, I am very curious what township residents think of township officials, business leaders, developers, and others in the area labeling the Union Centre area as the township’s downtown.

What do you think? Can an area under development be labeled “downtown,” even before it’s complete? Will this designation help/hinder/have no effect on the area’s development?
