rain, rain go away

I was not able to attend a get-together planned today, due to this lovely weather and Voice of America Park’s wonderful drainage issues. What one hopes would be a greening field right now is instead a shallow tidal pool, it seems.

I’m looking forward to learning more about MetroParks of Butler County’s plans for the park, now that it is managing all but the museum and the area immediately surrounding it. At the very least, I hope and suspect they’ll do something to improve drainage in some of the open areas, but I haven’t seen any official plans yet.

There are lots of people who use that park, for lots of different purposes. If you’re a park-goer, sound off; what would you like to see MetroParks do with VOA Park? Keep it as is? Add certain amenities? Give the space a major face-lift? Comment here and let us all know.
