New Smashburger opens today in Dayton
DAYTON — The Smashburger restaurant at 1200 Brown St. near Stewart Street, adjacent to the University of Dayton campus, is scheduled to open at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 24, a Smashburger spokeswoman said late Tuesday afternoon.
This will be the second Smashburger to open in the Dayton area for the Denver-based chain, following last fall’s opening of the restaurant at 2315 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in the Shoppes at 725 in Miami Twp. Smashburger and local franchisee group Rodenkirch Management, LLC are scheduled to open 12 restaurants in the Dayton and Cincinnati region over the next few years. Lease negotiations are ongoing, a Smashburger spokeswoman said.
The new UD-area Smashburger is open until 10 p.m. tonight, and its regular hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. For more information, call (937) 985-9262.

Well, another resturant. This area needs more non-resturant business so that people can actually buy food at these places. Dayton has become a dead zone for business, opening another burger joint in this area is not good business.

Isn’t their hourly wage or the fact that they have a job incentive enough to do what should be expected of them in the first place? If it’s not then maybe they need to find employment elsewhere. I truly hope that Smashburger doesn’t encourage their stores to put the tip bowls out there, if so, they’ve lost a customer.

the tip jar is there bc the tips get split up amongst employees for giving the customers fast and hot food. its incentive for the workers to make sure of a speedy delivery.

Tank’s on Wayne Ave. The BEST burger in town. Extra bonus is having a Tankburger with your favorite beer! Barleycorn’s is close second.

Hopefully the new Smashburger won’t have the “tip” bowl placed out in front of the cash register like the one on 725. Can’t stand it when businesses do that or allow their employees to do that! Did have a great burger though!

Best burger I ever had was over the summer, cooking out with a thick patty and all the fixins. Nothing beats homemade and both Five Guys and Smash are pricey. Stay home, cookout and enjoy the deck in my opinion… :-)

If you really, really want the best burger around is at Norton’s in Lincoln Park off Shroyer Rd. Not a chain restaurant. I have taken 1/2 of mine home and reheated later and was great.

null - I found soggyville to be the case with FG’s too, eventhough the in-house burger was the best I’ve had in years. The bread is key.

There is absolutely no comparison between Five Guys and Smashburger. Cant wait for Five Guys to open across the street.

Five Guys has better fries, Smasburger has better sandwiches. The main problem with five Guys is the food doesn’t hold up very well. If you don’t eat it within twenty minutes of getting it, forget it.
