New Logan’s Roadhouse restaurant to open next month

The new Logan’s Roadhouse near the Dayton Mall that we told you about in November doesn’t yet have a precise opening date, but will open sometime in late March, according to a spokeswoman for the Nashville-based restaurant chain.

The 6,336-square-foot restaurant is located in Miami Twp. at 2148 Miamisburg Centerville Road (Ohio 725), just east of the Dayton Mall where a former Bravo Italian Kitchen once stood. It will employ about 130 people.

Logan’s Roadhouse opened a restaurant in 2006 at 2819 Centre Drive near the Fairborn-Beavercreek border, just east of the intersection of North Fairfield Road and New Germany-Trebein Road. The chain runs more than 180 company-operated and 25 franchised Logan’s Roadhouse restaurants in 23 states. The restaurants are known for its mesquite-grilled steaks and chicken, baby-back ribs and “bottomless” buckets of in-shell peanuts.

So now the Miami Valley is the only place where c-sections are performed? That’s a new one. At least they served steaks medium rare. We don’t see that too often anymore at any chain no matter where you are at. But Voltzy would, for sure. Go Rick!

I miss the Smoky Bones out by the Dayton Mall. Although the first time we ate there we had to listen to the waiter telling the couple behind us about his first child being born by C-section and how his wife was split open because the cord had gotten wrapped around the baby’s head. Made by medium rare steak taste all the better…lol Gotta love the Miami Valley!!

Even New York City has chains. Why shoildn’t Dayton? There are still plenty of places in the Miami Valley that are not chains, just like everywhere else in the country. And, last time I checked, the entire country was suffering financially, not just here. I guess the whole country is getting abandoned, then, by the twisted logic we see on these boards.

Logans in BC has always been good. They have a great steak salad. Chain restaurants are the norm everywhere now, so Dayton is no different. It comes down to economies of scale, marketing and access to capitol.

We have dined at the one in Beavercreek on a couple of occasions. Both times we have been happy with the meal. As to the person who complained about their steak being underdone….did you ask the server to take it back and cook it some more. Many people have no clue about rare/medium rare/medium/ medium well/ well. It forced the restaurants to under cook to a degree and then cook it some more to keep from wasting a piece of meat because of a misinformed customer. For those of you that look down your nose….go to Indy and eat at Ruths Chris.. Oh wait. you would complain about that too.

It is obvious that the reason you get chain restraunts is because it caters to the people that eat there. Chains are all you hillbillies deserve. From your comments, it is definite that you would not know how to act in Oakwood or Jag’s in West Chester. Just stick with where you belong and I won’t have to worry about riff raff when I dine out.

As I read over many of these headlines and comments I always notice how many negative comments are made on the comments and also half the time they are not even related to the subject. Dayton sure does present a negative attitude about EVERYTHING.

What is with Dayton and all the darn chain restaurants?! Whenever I go out of town places have a good amount of family owned, delicious, one of kind type of restaurants, but not Dayton! Am I the only one or does anyone else feel the same way?
