Archbold players shave heads for cancer research
From Crescent-News.com:
Many Americans find it increasingly difficult to see hope in the world, but that’s not because hope is a lost cause.
It’s simply a matter of looking in the right places.
For me the young people of today, part-misunderstood and part-underestimated as they are, usually provide a source of both hope and inspiration.
If given an opportunity to step up and show their mettle, they very often respond with amazing results.
Such was the case Wednesday afternoon at Archbold High School, when the entire varsity boys basketball team had their heads shaved to raise funds for children’s cancer research.

TweetTecumseh football players make college choices
From NewCarlisleNews.net
NEW CARLISLE - Tecumseh’s football program has a slogan, “Tradition Never Graduates”.
One thing that the Arrows tradition has done is turn out some outstanding student-athletes over the years, and this year is no exception, as a pair of seniors signed with their respective colleges on February 15.
Zeke Eier and Mike McKee both signed on the dotted line last week, as Eier will be attending the University of The Cumberlands, and McKee will be playing at St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

TweetWitt grad new offensive coordinator at UNC-Charlotte
From the Charlotte Observor:
Jim Grobe laughed when it was suggested to him that Brad Lambert, the Charlotte 49ers’ new football coach, had hired Jeff Mullen, a Wittenberg graduate, before Grobe could get to him.
“That sorry dog,” Grobe said of Lambert. “He went out and got one of the good ones.”
Lambert’s first act as Charlotte’s first coach Tuesday was to name Mullen offensive coordinator. They are longtime friends and colleagues from their days coaching under Grobe at Wake Forest.
Mullen left the Deacons in 2007 to be offensive coordinator at West Virginia, but was fired in December when the Mountaineers brought in head-coach-in-waiting Dana Holgorsen to be offensive coordinator next season before taking over for Bill Stewart in 2012.
