Wes Smith brings spotlight to Wabash basketball
From FOX59.com:
CRAWFORDSVILLE — The reality, perhaps not harsh, came in the couple times he stepped into Chadwick Court.
He took a look around and realized something was a little different than he was used to.
After all, it is Division III basketball and what he saw around him was a typical crowd for the level.
“Coming up here and having maybe 200 to 300 people to play in front of it was definitely hard to adjust to,” said the guard of the crowds that would attend Little Giants games. Advertisement: Buy autographed collectibles from SportsMemorabilia.com!
To understand what he was going through, you had to look at his prep career. A unique prep career, in fact.
“Playing with Greg and Mike, most of the games were sold out,” said Smith of his high school years at Lawrence North in Indianapolis.
He refers to Greg Oden and Mike Conley, the future Ohio State Buckeyes and players in the National Basketball Association who were apart of the traveling road show that was Wildcats basketball in the middle of the last decade.
