Alabama adds eight for spring, including DePriest

Trey DePriest - Linebacker from Springfield, OH

DePriest was expected to go to Ohio State, but is in Tuscaloosa because of his friendship with Sunseri. DePriest is an exceptional talent and already has the size to play Sam, Will, or Mike. In high school, he was used a lot like Dont’a Hightower is used in the Tide defense, sometimes lining up over the guard and sometimes blitzing from the outside. A true freshman has started at least one game at linebacker in each of the last five seasons (CJ Mosley, Nico Johnson, Dont’a Hightower, Rolando McClain, Prince Hall). This is likely the season that ends, but if anyone is going to keep the streak alive, it’s DePriest.
