Live: Springfield leads Butler 27-0
10:35: 34-0 Wildcats.
9:45: With 11 minutes left in the game, Springfield is up 27-0. I’m heading to the sideline and will post the final score when it’s over. Butler didn’t have a passing yard in the third quarter.
9:40: Springfield just fumbled. Butler still can’t move the football.
9:30: The Wildcats just scored, and Meghan Pendergast kicked the extra point. She’s a freshman kicker for the Wildcats. 27-0 Springfield.
9:20: Butler QB Trevor Wilson has been sacked twice in the third quarter already. springfield’s Josh Bass fumbled the ball out of the end zone trying to score for a Butler touchback.
8:30: Springfield’s up 20-0 at halftime. George Walker has two touchdown passes and Trey DePriest ran for another score. Lamar Davenport and Byron Thompson each have a touchdown catch.
Good for Springfield: Butler has 37 passing yards and negative-1 rushing yards.
Bad for Springfield: The Wildcats have been called for 10 penalties, including two on the final two plays of the first half.
The Wildcats’ defense is pushing the Aviators all over the field, and they have four sacks. B.J. Bush started the sack party on the Aviators’ second offensive play of the game.

8:15: Springfield 14, Butler 0. George Walker had a 59-yard run, and then completed a 5-yard TD pass to Byron Thompson.
8:05: Springfield had a bad snap on the punt. Butler’s on the Springfield 43.
The Aviators still can’t move the football. Springfield’s defense is moving fast. Butler can’t keep up.
7:50: Butler punted, then Walker through an interception in the end zone. The Wildcats are faster and more aggressive, so far.
7:45: The Wildcats are up 7-0. Trey DePriest had a 1-yard run. The TD was set up by a 47-yard pass from George Walker to Trey DePriest.
7:30 p.m.: I’ll be posting live updates from the Springfield at Vandalia Butler football game in Vandalia.
Both teams are 1-1. Springfield lost to Pickerington Central last week. Butler lost to Tecumseh.
The game’s about to start.
