Update on closure of Gap stores in Beavercreek
Here’s fresh news about the closing of the Gap stores at the Mall of Fairfield Common.
Some of the workers displaced by the closure of the Gap stores at the Mall at Fairfield Commons will be relocated to other store in the chain, according to Kimberly Terry, senior manager of Gap Brand Engagement.
“We have a strong track record of placing the majority of employees at either another Gap location or at one of our sister brands,” she said via email.
Gap Inc. is the the parent company of Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime and Athleta stores.
Terry said is it against her company’s policy to divulge how many employees work at any particular location.
The Fairfield Commons stores were permanently closed Monday as part of the Gap’s real estate strategy outlined in 2007.
“We’re constantly re-evaluating our real estate portfolio to ensure we have the right stores in the right places to best serve our customers. We recently opened a location at The Greene to serve customers in this market,” she said.
Terry said the stores at the Greene in Beavercreek and the Dayton Mall in Miamisburg will remain open.
