Event free thanks to donation by sponsor

The ninth installment of Dayton Pecha Kucha will be presented free of charge 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Atta Girl Art & Garden, 901 East 3rd St. thanks to a donation by the evening’s sponsor, Dragonfly Editorial.

During the fast-paced, idea-sharing party, nine people will present various ideas using 20 slides that are discussed for 20 seconds each.

Tapas and beverages from Coco’s Bistro will be available during the event’s “traditional beer break.”

Presenters include marketing professional and music journalist Tim Anderl whose talk is called “Rockstars Are People Too;” artist Patrick Dalton who will discuss Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Specialist Training; and Grass Roots Enrichment and Wellness Center for Children & Families Program Director Lisa Patrick-Wright who will “share the impetus, inspiration and thinking behind the creation of a magical place where children can thrive.”

Other presenters are Historian Galen Wilson, business owner Lisa Pratt, community volunteer Scott Murphy, CultureMASH founder Shana Douglas, attorney Joseph Downing, and artist Reka Juhasz.

First devised in Tokyo in February 2003, Pecha Kucha draws its name from the Japanese term for the sound of “chit chat.”
