WDTN to hold auditions for new show
Remember the upcoming WDTN midday show we told you about in September?
The station will host meet and greet auditions for “Living Dayton” 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Buckminn’s D&D Harley-Davidson, 1213 Cincinnati Ave., Xenia.
“We’re looking for energetic, fun and creative people who want to be part of our new show,” said Steve Bailey, Creative Services Director of WDTN-TV. “This is your chance to audition and tell us why you should be part of the Living Dayton team.”
The local lifestyle talk show will replace “2 News at Noon” in February.
WDTN anchor Marsha Bonhart and meteorologist Jamie Jarosik will present news and weather at the top of the hour-long broadcast.
The weekday show needs two hosts, producers and experts in all fields to be a part of Living Dayton.
The station says it is looking for two types of people:
Characters - People who are funny, witty or just plain interesting. An opinionated grandmother, a stay-at-home dad or someone like that might work.
Field professionals - People with expertise on a certain subject. For example a computer or gadgets aficionado, a fashion queen, etc.
Contact Steve Bailey at sbailey@wdtn.com for more information.

I feel this is an unfortunate move by WDTN. The clearly have the best news cast at noon and now I will be shutting the TV during that time. I tried watching WHIO…no thanks. Hopefully WDTN will reconsider this format and cater to all the viewers not just desperate housewives.

You already have a great host on your staff by the name of Jim Bucher. Jim used to do a similar show years ago on cable. He should get a shot at it.
