Centerville business attempting to fill semi for children’s charity
Centerville Coin & Jewelry Connection needs your help filling a semitrailer with goods for a local charity that helps needy children.
The business is hosting one of nine semis as a part of Cincinnati-based Frame USA’s Fill the Truck charity drive, which is expanding into the Dayton area this year.
Donations collected locally will go to Hannah’s Treasure Chest, an organization that provides clothing, furniture and toys to children through agencies in Montgomery, Butler, Greene and Warren counties.
The drive kicked off during Heart of Centerville business district’s Hometown Holidays celebration Nov. 20.
Mariesa Stock, Centerville Coin & Jewelry Connection’s marketing and communications officer, said a variety of items will be accepted, but collecting hats, gloves, baby formula and other items for children is the objective. All items, including cash donations, toiletries and new and gently-used clothing and coats, will be accepted through Dec. 23 during Centerville Coin & Jewelry Connection’s regular business hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The business has an 800 box goal.
Cash donations can be made online at fillthetruck.org/hannahstreasurechest. There is also a list of needed items .
In addition, the coin and jewelry shop is “double dog daring” local businesses to fill boxes for the truck.
Empty boxes can be picked up from Hannah’s Treasure Chest, 124 Westpark Road, Centerville, filled and dropped off at Centerville Coin and Jewelry, 38 West Franklin St. Include a self addressed envelope with an email and phone number in each box.
The company that donates the most boxes will win a donut breakfast and pizza lunch or a goodie basket from Hannah’s Treasure Chest and Centerville Coin & Jewelry.
