Dayton brothers declared ‘First in Fly’ in new ad
Wilbur and Orville Wright were suave fashion innovators, according to a new back-to-school ad for Foot Locker shoe stores.
The tongue-in-cheek spot created by SapientNitro and Biscuit Filmworks declares the Dayton brothers ‘First in Fly.’
A narrator says the Wrights had sneakers that “blew people’s minds.”
“Women loved their sneakers, men wanted to be in their sneakers,” he says. “While everyone else was struck on crisscross laces, the Wright Brothers were the first to do bars.”
He says the brother’s “flyiest” idea of all was wearing sneakers to a formal event.
“They also invented airplanes,” the narrator says plainly. “That’s my report on the Wright Brothers, the First in Fly.”

I’ve seen this commercial a few times and I have to say that I love it! It is nice to see Dayton getting a little spot in the limelight! Everybody knows this city is the first in fly…and I ALWAYS wear my sneakers to formal events
