The bright-eyed blonde has worked with noted designers, including Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen, to fulfill the fashion school’s famed cooperative education requirements.

She was ready to take on the world when interviewed in 2008 before her final project at UC.

“You have to work hard and it will pay off,” she said. “I have to go to New York and show up at doors with my portfolio.”

lol … she doesn’t look much like a model or a designer. We need actual beautiful people from Dayton represented!

Amen to that Amy! This girl doesn’t represent Dayton properly in any way shape or form!

follow the links to ‘Project Runway’ at mylifetime.com and you all can see how pretty she is! Its not about how good-looking she is anyways… Its about her amazing talent. And in case you haven’t noticed Dayton Ohio isn’t exactly the capital for attractive people…

What are you fools talking about. She is beautiful. It is ugly people like you that make the world a hateful place. How mean spirited. Are you jealous? Get out of high school and grow up. I am sure you are a bunch of immature brats. I can not wait to see the show I am sure she will represent herself and Dayton well. Good Luck Althea

If she uses her talent the way she has with the right people in the past, she’ll blow right through the competition

She is a butter face… everything looks good but her face. Toccara was waaaay better!

Ugh … she isn’t anywhere near pretty. She isn’t going to succeed on her looks, that’s for sure. Then again, it’s reality TV. They always look for people with mental problems, so maybe she has lots of those?

Project Runway is about designing not actually being a model like america’s next top model…Toccara is a model not a designer…Get your shows right if you’re going to speak on the subject.

Althea is 10+ in her talent and creativity but just because happens to be so remarkably gorgeous the haters come out to hate since they have nothing better to do than to project their insecurities on someone actually doing good for the gem city. Her devotion is unparalleled and her fashion sense is incredible. any outfit I rock out that she picks out gets tons of compliments. forget the haters and keep up the amazing work Thea! Enjoy listening to Diana Krall Amy P you total a** sucker

The comments I am reading show the class level of Dayton, Ohio. That is why I don’t live there anymore and I’m sure why Althea is now in NYC! You go girl!

Amy P and Amen - do you think your snide and baseless comments should be representing Dayton? “she doesn’t look much like a model or a designer?” Please tell me what a designer “looks” like. Althea is doing a great thing for herself. Quit posting garbage and spewing your idiotic recommendations.

I’m very surprised by some of the responses. AmyP, Amen, do you know this girl? We know you have not seen PR season 6, how can you judge? I do know she had good enough grades from OHS to get into UC’s DAAP, a program that is notoriously difficult to get in. Got into St. Martin’s in London, seen by many as ‘the’ fashion school. Interned with not 1, but 4 very prominent designers in NYC, and London. As an intern was picked by the McQueen staff to go to the Paris fashion show. Then was picked as a contestant to be on Project Runway just out of college. Seems to ‘represent’ Dayton pretty well, what have you done to judge so harshly? Oh, and AmyP what does a designer look like? Amen, I’m sure an intelligent, driven individual would not ‘represent’ the Dayton you know…. As far as her not being pretty enough for you, or WilliamR, or Poppawu that matters in what way? Over it, Oakwood is part of Dayton look at a map, and whack?! How old are you?

Althea has amazing talent, drive, AND looks! She has modeled professionally and has done some acting. She is what you call a triple threat. Watch the show before you judge.

She is gorgeous, but that is beside the point! I am a native of Dayton and I was excited to see her on the show! Her talent surpasses her competion’s and I believe she will win!
