Former Wright State student takes on Oscar-winning song

Nicole Scherzinger, the Miami Valley’s favorite gyrating Pussycat, told the gossip website PopEater.com that she fell in love with ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ and wanted to do a version of the A.R. Rahman’s Oscar-winning song “Jai Ho.”

“The characters and the heart and soul of the movie and the music truly inspired me. It was such a great honor to be able to re-write my own version of the lyrics to ‘Jai Ho’ — ‘You are my Destiny,’” the Pussycat Dolls lead singer said.

Scherzinger, who was raised in Louisville, Ky., studied theater arts at Wright State University in Fairborn.
